Korean Egg Sandwich
- 3 Large Eggs
- Mayonnaise to taste
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 4 Bread rolls (or Hawaiian rolls)
Into a pot of water, add in the 3 eggs and let it boil for 10 minutes. Make sure that the eggs are fully submerged in the water.
Once boiled, drain out the hot water and pour in cool water and let the eggs sit for a few minutes.
Peel off the eggshell and then cut the boiled eggs in half.
Take out the yolks and transfer into a mixing bowl and set aside.
Chop the boiled egg whites into small bits or cubes and set aside.
Into the bowl with the egg yolks, add in some mayonnaise as per your taste requirements. Then, add in some salt and pepper to taste. Give it a good mix until it forms a paste-like mixture. To it, add in the chopped boiled egg whites and mix well until combined.
Take the bread rolls and slice them into half horizontally. Fill in the egg filling on the bottom half and close the bread roll with the top half. It is then ready to eat.
Ingredient Additions
Dried Herbs:
If you wish to have your egg mixture more flavoured, you can add in some dried herbs like oregano, thyme, basil, rosemary etc.
Green Chillies:
If you like your dishes spicy, then you can finely chop up a green chilli or two and add it into the egg mixture for that extra spice.
Chopped Green Onions:
For an extra crunch, you can add in finely chopped green onion, which will also make the sandwich more wholesome with an enhanced flavour as well.
Ingredient Substitutes
Sandwich Bread:
In case you do not have bread rolls at hand, you could always use Hawaiian rolls or any other regular bread or sandwich bread for this recipe.
Thousand Island Dressing:
You can substitute mayonnaise with thousand island dressing if you prefer that flavour.
Note:
You could also have a blend of both mayonnaise and thousand island dressing for your egg mixture for an enhanced flavour.
